Clapham Common, St Mary (RC)
District: Northern
Practice Night: None
Ringing Times: Ringing has been suspended until further notice due to poor state of tower. The Ellacombe chiming apparatus has been brought back into use until the future of the bells for full-circle ringing can be determined.
The bells are chimed for one Mass on Sundays, whenever possible.
Visits can be arranged on Saturday Mornings for the “Chiming Experience”, or for budding steeple keepers to view the current sad state of these notorious bells, subject to reasonable notice.
Entry: Entry is through the main door to the church. The belfry door is in the left hand corner.

The church was built by Redemptorist Order in the mid 19th century, with a ring of 6 bells installed a few years later. These were augmented by the addition of two Trebles in the 1920s to make up the existing ring of 8.
