The building is a 12th century church with wooden spire. William Eldridge of London cast the Tenor in 1681, with the remaining five bells produced by Gillett and Johnston of Croydon. Peal boards evidence the earlier attachment to the Sussex Guild of Church bellringers, however boundary changes have subsequently moved the regional administration to Surrey.
